These days, most of us tend to spend a lot of time sitting down. Whether it’s commuting, at home, or at a desk at work. This means it can be very difficult to burn calories if you’re looking to lose weight.

Well, there is! And here are 3 chair exercises for belly fat you can use today.

Exercise #1 – Cat Cow

Sit on the edge of your chair, put your feet firmly on the floor and straighten your back. Your hands can be placed on your legs for comfort. Now arch your back and look directly up into the air. Take a deep breath when you do this and try to push your chest out in front of you. Then breath out and straighten your back again to return to the original posture.

Do this 4 or 5 times, it’s a great way to warm up before doing more chair exercises.

Exercise #2 – Core Twists

This exercise can be a lot of fun and you’ll certainly feel your stomach muscles when doing it. Sit upright on your chair and move it slightly away from your desk. Hold on to the desk with both of your hands. Put your legs straight out in front of you. Then twist your body so that you’re trying to get your left hip vertical (above) to your right hip. Then lower yourself to the original position. Now do the same with your right hip and return back to the starting position. Keep repeating until you’ve had enough. This exercise will really get your abs burning!

Exercise #3 – Straight Leg Raises

Sit towards the front of your chair. Lean back so that your shoulders touch the back of the chair. Lift your legs up so that your feet are just off the floor. Now lift your left leg and put it straight out in front of you. Hold it for 5 seconds and lower it. Then repeat with your right leg. Again, repeat this until your abs can’t take any more. Make sure you’re always in a comfortable position, as you don’t want to strain your back.
